Many thanks Rebecca for sharing these pictures with us, followers of Gordon`s blog. Congratulations to the ganseys. Happy new year and happy knitting in 2022.
Thank you, Judit. I’ve very much enjoyed the photos of the many sweaters you have
knit and shared also. I’m a slow knitter, not nearly as prolific, but I have enjoyed
knitting these sweaters, and find them warm and comfortable to wear. My grandmother taught me to knit when I was a young girl (six decades ago), and I find myself thanking her quite often (during the last few years) for teaching me a skill that is so gratifying.
Happy knitting to you as well!
Judit, That is an excellent article and relevant to the stresses we are experiencing in a
changing world. Thanks a million for posting it. The article mentions knitting for charity –
my grandmother knit many pairs of mittens for children, but most interesting, she
talked about groups of women who knit rolls of cotton bandages for troops during WWII;
evidently, women all over the country (U.S). were doing the same, which I find fascinating.
Hello again! Here would be something for you. Finland- my home country- the land of knitted socks. This is my blog, it is written in Hungarian – my native language. You find it here : https://finnorszagilevelek.com/2021/09/27/finnorszag-a-gyapjuzoknik-orszaga-339-level/‘
There is a Google translator program- Gordon knows how to find it, ask him.
But look at the pictures for the beginning.
Best regards !
Beautiful socks!! I haven’t knit socks for years
and just got done knitting a pair of baby socks,
actually I knit three socks, because I didn’t decrease
properly on the first one!! I also knit these
adorable booties (free download from Ravelry),
You might be interested if I can copy it. https://web.archive.org/web/20130707052139/http://fuzzygalore.biz/patterns/cbbooties.shtml
I went by these instructions, mostly. Didn’t do
the wrap stitch she suggested, just did it like a sock.
This was a free download from Ravelry, which is her
way to knit the original bootie I posted above. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IvQ-ynBqJvQ
Kind of fun to knit. Quick! Happy knitting, indeed.
Many thanks for the adorable booties. Just now we do not have any babies in the family but I save the instructions for the future.
Happy knitting to you too.
